| Daniel Webster College in Nashua, NH offers four and two-year degrees in aviation, computer science, business management, sports management, aerospace engineering, and social science. The Division of Aviation is the largest program at the college. Situated on Boire Field, a towered airport with a 5,500 foot precision instrument runway, the college offers an ideal environment for aviation education. The college delivers its aviation curriculum using its fleet of over 30 aircraft, as well as aircraft simulators, an air traffic control simulator, high-tech classrooms, and computer laboratories. Students can choose from three four-year programs: Bachelor of Science in Aviation Operations, Aviation Management, and Aviation/Air Traffic Management. The BS in Aviation Management is in turn broken down into three tracks: Airport management, airline management, and general and corporate aviation management. Daniel Webster College uses Simmod PLUS in AM 340 Airport and Airspace Capacity Management. This course is required both for Aviation/Air Traffic Management students, and those Aviation Management students who have selected the airport management track. After a thorough review of capacity and demand concepts, including queueing theory, students use Simmod PLUS to model airport and airspace traffic flows. Starting with a relatively simple regional airport, students model increasing levels of acvitity and complexity to evaluate demand and capacity management. Alternatives implemented by students to reduce delay are then evaluated for environmental impacts, using the FAA's Integrated Noise Model.
