This tool allows users to associate SIMMOD aircraft model names to INM aircraft model names.
While SIMMOD allows the creation of new aircraft with little or no restrictions, INM has a fixed list of standard
aircraft models. This list is changed only with each release of INM, not by the user. When a SIMMOD aircraft model
is not in the INM list, converting planes of this model does not yield useful data without this mapping. This situation
is an error condition which prevents SIMMOD to INM conversion.
New SIMMOD aircraft models can be added in two ways. The first is through this tool's GUI controls. The second
is by adding a SIMMOD scenario to a configuration. When this happens, any new SIMMOD aircraft models are automatically
added.
If a new model name is legal in SIMMOD, it is added to the SIMMOD aircraft Model list as a new model. If this
model is in the INM list, then the mapping is automatically made.
Major Elements:
This tool is composed of two lists and a table.

SIMMOD Aircraft
Models List:
The SIMMOD Aircraft Models list contains the SIMMOD aircraft models which have been found in at least one included
SIMMOD scenario. Each model in this list may have one of the following indicators:
New: The model
listed is a new item which has not yet been mapped nor written to the database.
Edited: The
model listed is in the database but edits have occurred in this tool. The edits will be stored to the database
when the user presses the Save button.
Marked for
Deletion: The model listed has been marked for deletion. When the user presses the Save button any "Marked
for Deletion" objects will be deleted.
INM Aircraft Models
List:
The INM Aircraft Models list contains all of the defined INM aircraft models. These values come from INM. Users
can not modify this list through the GUI.
INM Aircraft Models
Table:
The table lists the mapping configuration for the selected SIMMOD aircraft model. It consists of the following
columns:
- Probability: What percentage of operations of this SIMMOD model should be mapped to this INM model. Restated:
how often this SIMMOD model should be converted into this INM model. To edit, click on the entry, type backspace.
and then enter the desired probability.
- INM Model: An INM aircraft model which this SIMMOD aircraft model is mapped to. Users must use the buttons
as described below to modify this column.
To map a SIMMOD model to an INM one, first select the SIMMOD model. Second, select the INM model(s) that you
wish to map to. Lastly, click the button with an arrow pointing towards the table. If more than one INM model has
been added, edit the probabilities as needed. Probabilities are between 0 and 1, inclusive. The total of these
probabilities for the same SIMMOD to INM model mapping should equal 1. It is an error for this sum to be 0 or aboxve
1.
Tool Bar:
The buttons on the tool bar are as follows:

Add New SIMMOD aircraft model
name: Adds a SIMMOD aircraft model to the appropriate list. It requests a name which is not in use by another model.
or Save edited data: Saves the aircraft model mapping into the proper
configuration file. Should an unmapped aircraft model be found, a warning pops up. Once the user clicks OK, the
rest of the data is saved. Only data marked for deletion and unmapped models are not saved.
Mark aircraft model mapping
for deletion: Labels the selected aircraft model mapping to be deleted during the next save. To remove this mark,
select the SIMMOD aircraft model and click this button again.
Rename SIMMOD aircraft model:
Renames the selected aircraft model mapping.
- Copy aircraft model mapping: Disabled.
- Paste aircraft model mapping: Disabled.
Revert to aircraft model mapping's
initial data: Restores the aircraft model association to its status as of the last save.
Revert to previous aircraft
model mapping: Restores the aircraft model association to its status before the last change.
Go to next record edit:
Undoes the last revert to previous operation.
Go last record edit:
Restores the aircraft model mapping to its status after the last change made by the user.
Help: Brings up S2I's online
help.
The fast forward and rewind buttons allow the user to view all of his/her changes in the SIMMOD to INM model
association since the last save. Users can not use these controls to undo the renaming of a model nor the marking
something for deletion. Instead, these changes must be undone using their respective controls.
