Monitor Distances Tool

Description:

The Monitor Distances Tool gives the user the ability to designate areas in the SIMMOD link/node system where distances between aircraft should be displayed as the aircraft traverse through those areas.

Multiple nodes can be designated as entry points. Multiple exit nodes can also be designated as exit points.

As an aircraft passes through one of the entry nodes it is placed into a special set of aircraft which will have their distances monitored. All aircraft in the special set have distances computed between them. Distances are in nautical miles.

As an aircraft passes through one of the exit nodes it is removed from any special sets of which it belongs.

View Sample

New Set - Create a new set of nodes which should have aircraft traversing their links monitored for distances between them.
Save Set - Save all sets.
Delete Set - Delete a set.
Available Sets - The sets which have been defined.
Set Visibility - Determines if the set is enabled (visible) or disabled.
Text Color - The color in which the distances and the lines between aircraft will be displayed.
Entry Nodes - The nodes which have been designated as entry nodes for the selected set.

You may select any combination of airspace and airfield nodes at the same time.

When aircraft pass through one of these nodes, and the aircraft eventually passes through an exit node, it's distance will be monitored against aircraft which have already passed through the set's nodes, but haven't yet exited the set.
Exit Nodes - The nodes which have been designated as exit nodes for the selected set.

You may select any combination of airspace and airfield nodes at the same time.

When aircraft pass through one of these nodes, and the aircraft has previously passed through an entry node, it's distance will no longer be monitored.

Important note: Airspace arrival interface nodes cannot be used as an exit node due to a limitation of SIMMOD. SIMMOD does not output when an aircraft traverses over an arrival interface node.

You should use the first node on the runway instead.
